2. Christian HERSCHE

Land Records name children and daughters husbands (Deed Z-121)

Christian arrived in America later than his family because he was "forced to
remain behind at the Court." He arrived in Philadelphia on 3 Sep 1739 on the
ship Robert and Alice (Ralph B. Strassburger, William J. Hinke, Editor,
"Pennsylvania German Pioneers", Vol I, page 267.)

Christian and his family lived in Manheim Twp., Lancaster Co., Penn.

1n 1709, Christian was with his mother and father in the Friedelsheim, Germany Congregation. He was 17 years of age at this time.


Esther EGLE (EGLI)

Esther's will was written on 4 Mar 1768. She divided her estate equally among her children, mentioning by name her sons Abraham and Benjamin. Witnesses to her will were Abraham Neff, Christian Hershey and Benjamin Hershey. (Lancaster Co. Will Y-2-313, 1792, Will of Esther Hershey.)

Abraham Egli was the only known Mennonite named Egli living in the Pfalz at the time period when Esther married Christian Hershey, so it is very likely that Abraham was the father of Esther.

3. Benjamin HERSCHE

Obiturary: Neue Unpartheyische Lancaster Zeitung und Anzigs-Nach-richten (a
German language newspaper)

Benjamin immigrated in 1717 with his family. He lived 1 mile east of Manheim in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in a graveyard near the old Mennonite Meeting House. He was a Bishop in the Mennonite faith.

In the 1709 Friedelsheim, Germany Congregation, Benjamin is listed as 13 years of age. He is here with his family.

Mary is listed in her father, Ulrich's will.


4. Anna Elizabeth HERSCHE

Anna immigrated from Europe with her family in 1717. She lived with her
husband in Conestoga, Lancaster Co., Penn. (patent 1734).

In the 1709 Friedelsheim, Germany Congregation, Anna is listed as 11 years of age. She is here with her family.


Herman LONG

Herman is listed as Anna Hersche's husband in wills and land deeds.
Will was dated on 2 June 1773.

Herman owned considerable land in Hempfield Twp., Lancaster Co., Penn. They
settled there in 1727.

Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, Orphans Court, June 2, 1773. All of Herman's
property is divided by his son Christian Long. It names his children as
Christian, Addah, Ann, Catharine, Maria, Magdalena, Herman, Esther, John,
Barbara, Susannah, and Fronica.


23. Maria LONG

Maria is listed in the distribution of her father's estate in the Lancaster
Co., Pennsylvania, Orphans Court, June 2, 1773. In this record, Maria is not
listed as having a husband. She may never have married.


24. Esther LONG

Esther and John settled in Coalico Twp., Lancaster Co., Penn. Daniel Brukart,
David Martin and Maria Bauman were reared by John Meyer. It is thought that
Esther and John did not have any of their own children.
